Annie Duke mightn’t have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most powerful poker players around the cash games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi/lo.

While competitors from the "younger crowd" of poker run crazy following a huge win at the tables, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to gamble on the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small change girl and has captured her share of hard tables, including eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They are both players that have the ability to acquire the huge $$$$$ and do so with a smile.

Mrs. Duke is a strong player at any table considering that she is a true poker player, but it’s a little more than just being good at the game. Mrs. Duke is very smart and graduated from Columbia University where she took a double major in English and Psychology.

When you take a seat across from her at the table you will see she is there to play the game and she begins "sizing" you up as soon as you approach the poker table. If you cannot wager like a camp, then do not waste your time.

Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament competitions, Annie Duke became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to enhance his talents and become a force at the poker table.

You may see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely notice Annie on TV and you might even participate against her in an on-line poker match, but do not count on a simple win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be fun to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
