Web poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years several variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer announcing "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the other players are given 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager is the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus an amount on par with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The house pays out chips equal to your ante and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
