Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the east with the west in a great game for beginning level players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the dealer, not like most other poker games that players bet against other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, beginning players do not have to worry about any other, more advanced people taking their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game play, novices will be able to take their time and plan while not having to make frenzied choices.

It is also much simpler to play for an extended time with just a little bit of money after all, to lose, each of your hands must be lower than both of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is dealt 7 cards faces showing and the croupier is dealt 7 cards face down.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
