Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different gamblers are given five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s amount is akin to your beginning bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a figure equal to the initial bet. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips even with your wager and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
